QLF is a casted supergroup from outer space, which was established on the basis of a scientific research on summer hits. The abbreviation QLF means many things, among others it stands for “Q Liberation Front” and “Queens of Low Frequency”. The members of the group are not known to the public, only the main protagonist — a robot without name — is in the spotlight. It is idolised by men and women alike, his dance steps are reckless, breakneck, and sexy at the same time. Many myths surround QLF, both in the studio and in live performances it is supposed to be peculiar. Nothing works without dozens of candy-colored deodorants, numerous umbrellas and Lollipops. Apparently all members are addicts of crystalline methaqualone-desomorphine. The first break-through worldwide success of QLF is entitled “Our Life is Interstellar” and will be published in May 2014 generating a gigantic media interest.

After an extensive research on the history of summer hits with in the last 50 years, the development of interview guidelines and an online survey for collecting data and the attendance of important events within the festival landscape qujOchÖ will take the wheel, orient itself by KLFs masterpiece “The Manual (How to Have a Number One the Easy Way)” and produce the ultimative summer hit by returning to the studio.

qujOchÖ beschäftigt sich intensiv mit der Analyse des Phänomens “Sommerhit”. Zu diesem Zweck wird das Summerhit Research Lab gegründet. Gemäß dem Motto “We build this Hit on your Shit” ist dessen erklärtes Ziel die auf Schwarmintelligenz basierende Erstellung des nächsten Sommerhits.

Nach ausführlicher Recherche zur Entwicklung von Sommerhits der letzten 50 Jahre, der Ausarbeitung von Interviewleitfäden und einem Onlinefragebogen zur Datenerhebung und dem Besuch von bedeutenden Ereignissen der Festivallandschaft wird qujOchÖ das Heft des Handelns selbst in die Hand nehmen, sich an KLFs Meisterwerk “The Manual (How to Have a Number One the Easy Way)” orientieren und im Studio zurückgezogen den ultimativen Sommerhit produzieren.
